Creating the living family history book has been the best experience! My dad passed away from cancer and we tried to get some voice recordings of him telling stories before he passed but his cancer spread fast and we were unable to. Opportunity missed.
I wanted to make sure that we had his stories and my mom's while my mom was still in good health. I am so glad we did! Hillary came and did mini sessions with my mom going over her life history and then put them all into a digital file for us to upload on FamilySearch.com. We also paid extra and had her print them in a book for us. The book is translated word for word so you can see my mom's slang and mannerisms in the book. It is raw and real and we just love it! In fact, we loved it so much that we had her do the same thing for both my mother-in-law- and father-in-law. They were given as birthday gifts, and let's just say, we were the favorites this year! Best gift money can buy.
